キヤノンEOSのパワーユーザー向けファームウェアアドオン
Magic Lanternはキヤノンのデジタル一眼レフカメラ用のカスタムファームウェアアドオンです。これはハックや改変ファームウェアではありませんが、カメラをオンにするたびにカードから起動し、キヤノン独自のファームウェアと一緒に動作します。オリジナルファームウェアへの唯一の変更は、カードからソフトウェアを起動する機能です。
Magic Lanternは、スチルおよびビデオ愛好家の両方で開発され、その機能は、マニュアルオーディオ、ゼブラ、フォーカスアシスト、ブラケティング、モーション検知などが含まれます。

既知のバグ (August 22 リリース) とその修正 Edit
- MLの表示が外部モニターで歪む (fixed -> October 31).
- 再描画動作が外部モニター (HDMI or SD) クラッシュの原因になる (fixed -> September 8).
- ディスプレイをオフにしてインストールを開始すると失敗する可能性がある[1] (fixed -> August 28).
- クロップマークが録画を中断する可能性がある[2] (fixed -> August 28).
- 画像/動画のデータがカードにない状態で再生ボタンを素早く連続して押すとカメラがクラッシュする可能性がある[3] (fixed -> September 8).
