Magic Lantern è un add-on firmware creato per le fotocamere dSLR Canon, che gira assieme al firmware standard. Inizialmente sviluppato per i filmmakers, attualmente include funzioni utili sia per foto che video, inclusi controllo manuale dell'audio, zebra, strumenti di aiuto per la messa a fuoco, scatto a forcella, sensore di movimento e molto altro.

Qui a destra potete trovare le ultime versioni in sviluppo.

Experimental è solitamente la versione più aggiornata ma meno testata. Viene rilasciata per chi vuole testarla e riportare i bug che trova, indicata quindi per chi può capire l'inglese e seguire le note sulle ultime modifiche e cosa c'è da testare.
Higly recommended è solitamente più recente dell'ultimo rilascio e solitamente fixa i bug più gravi presenti nell' ultima verione rilasciata.
Latest release è l'ultimo rilascio, contiene tutti i file necessari per installare ML, mentre le altre versioni spesso contengono solo il file autoexec.bin aggiornato. Pertanto è necessario partire da questa versione per installare per la prima volta Magic Lantern ed eventualmente poi passare alla versione Higly recommended

Problemi conosciuti (versione del 22 Agosto 2011) e risoluzione Edit

Le grafiche di ML sono distorte sui monitor esterni (fix in corso, servono testers).

Qualunque operazione di redraw su monitor esterni (HDMI or SD) può causare crash (sistemato).

L' installazione può fallire si avviata con il display spento [1] (sistemato).

Cropmarks posson fermare la registrazione [2] (sistemato).

Premere PLAY ripetutamente può genere un crash di sistema se non ci sono immagini o video sulla scheda [3] (sistemato).
